Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri) is an approach for engaging with all levels of an organisation to set and agree targets and objectives. It involves a two way communication process to ensure that not only are targets and objectives set, but that the resources required are identified and provided. Without this two-way communication up and down the organisation targets can become undeliverable causing stress and lack or morale in the workforce as the demands become too high on too few resources.
Out of this drops the counterintuitive approach that less is more - fewer projects and activities lead to quicker delivery of benefits and the release of resources to tackle the next round of targets and objectives.
Policy Deployment is closely associated to SQCDP or Tier Meetings, although they can be implemented separately.
