Part of Standardised Work, Standard Diaries help to provide routine and structure to an organisation and hence deliver stability and control. Standard Diaries are closely linked to Process Confirmation, Standard Operating Procedures and Standardised Work, and SQCDP or Tier Meetings, all of which are represented in a concept called the Kaizen Flag.

Standard Diaries is about giving a rhythm and beat to an organisation - everyone knows what they have to do by when, and disruptions are discouraged.

Standard Diaries apply throughout an organisation, although deliver specific and significant benefits when applied to the roles of supervisors, team leaders and foremen (or equivalent). If done well, it will empower your supervisor teams to achieve more, take on increased responsibility, stay in control and not drop the ball.
